Daniel Lee Culbertson

We are sad to announce the passing of Daniel (Danny) Lee Culbertson of Hardeeville, SC.  Danny was born on May 29, 1952, to Francis (Boots) and Helen Culbertson.  He grew up in Toledo, Ohio where he graduated from Rogers High School.  

In 1982, Danny moved his family to Arlington, Texas. He moved around for many years until finally settling down in Hardeeville, SC in 1999, where he met his wife, Carrie. Danny, his sister Alice, and husband Richard Sheppard started a construction company, ADR Siding Plus. Only to become the 2nd largest siding company in South Carolina. In 2015, Danny and family decided to sell the business and retire.    

Danny lived his retirement years doing what he loved!  His passion was bass fishing and remodeling anything with a motor, more specifically Harley’s, classic cars, and trucks. He and his wife Carrie along with many friends and family traveled all over the countryside attending motorcycle rallies and car shows. Later in life, he spent most of his time, either fishing in his pond or working out back in his large shop piddling with all his toys. In the beginning, these toys were meant to be restored and sold. But, after putting in his blood, sweat and tears he could never bring himself to sell one.

Danny had an infectious, outgoing personality. He never met a stranger and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.  He tried to live life to the fullest. If you were lucky enough to know him, you knew to buckle up because it was going to be a fun ride.    

Danny is survived by wife Carrie, son Chris (Stacy), daughter Amy (William), stepson Wesley (Amanda). Brothers Michael (Jacquelyn) and Richard “Dick” (Diane), sisters, Alice (Richard), Frances “Franny”, and Susan (Curt). Grand-children, Christina, Heather, Amanda, Brice, Dylan, Maddy, and Brantley. Great-grandchildren Carter and Beau. Along with many loving nieces, nephews, friends, his dogs Gemma, and Bandit. 

He was proceeded in death by his Father Francis (Boots), Mother Helen, Son Daniel Lee Jr., and Best Friend Claudia.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton, SC. Following the visitation, a memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton, SC.
