David J. Feldkamp 71 passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024 with his family at his bedside after a lengthy illness. David was born in Lorain, Ohio to the late James and Antoinette Feldkamp (nee: Catanzarite). He attended Admiral King High School graduating in 1971. After graduation he attended the prestigious Ohio State Barber College in Columbus, Ohio where he became a licensed Master Barber.
After working as a hair stylist for several years, David decided to pursue a career in the retail industry where he quickly rose through the ranks to the management teams of several stores including Toy R Us, Office Max, and the Warehouse Club. He culminated his career in Management for Costco opening and managing warehouse in Avon, Ohio and Columbus, Ohio at the Polaris and Easton shopping and entertainment venues. Upon retiring from Costco after a distinguished career of 20 plus years. David moved to Sun City in Bluffton, South Carolina.
David was an accomplished photographer and awarding winning artist. He was also an avid collector who went through several “phases” including sports memorabilia, watches, eye glasses, Harley Davidson motorcycles and automobiles including his current prized Z06 Corvette.
David is survived by his wife Margaret (nee: Rousseau) of 47 years. brothers Don of Bluffton, SC and Dean of Loudon TN and sister Debra of Avon Lake, Ohio.
David will be cremated and interned at St Francis by the Sea Catholic Church on Hilton Head Island.
A celebration of life is planned for a future date.
