Diane Bartlett Obituary

Diane H. Bartlett of Hilton Head Island, SC, passed away on February 18, 2024. Diane was born on May 11, 1952 in Nashville, Tennessee. She is survived by her mother, Maxine Hall of Hendersonville, NC, sister Nancy Gabianelli (Eugene) of Atlanta, GA, sister Karen Belanger of Charleston, SC, brother Bradley Hall (Laura) of Saint Augustine, FL, and seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Arlin W. Hall and brother Andrew A. Hall.

Diane graduated from Western Michigan University and earned her MBA from Emory University Goizueta School of Business. She had a career spanning 40 years with IBM, ultimately serving as Partner and Vice President, IBM GBS Consulting. In retirement, she enjoyed teaching business courses at University of South Carolina Beaufort. She also served in leadership board positions for the Boys and Girls Club of Hilton Head, the Boys and Girls Club of The Lowcountry, and The Coastal Discovery Museum.

Diane loved life. She loved traveling with family and friends, and her favorite adventures included a multi-generation trip to Glacier National Park, hiking in the Pyrenees, and taking her mother to Bermuda. She loved to entertain and was always excited to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and graduations with her nieces and nephews. At home, she loved gardening and became a Master Gardener. Tennis, biking, reading, book club, and trivia night also kept her busy.

With her positive outlook and can-do personality, she joined an organization that traveled to Washington, DC to lobby for more funding and research for lung cancer. Besides family, she will be missed by many friends, neighbors, and colleagues; she will be remembered as a fierce fighter and advocate for what she believed.

A reception to celebrate her life will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Boys and Girls Clubs of Hilton Head and The Lowcountry, The Coastal Discovery Museum, USCB, or a charity of your choice.
