Janet Tomlin McGarvey

Our beloved Janet, 77, met her Savior face to face on March 7th at 6:44pm. She was born February 15, 1947 in Savannah, Ga and lived there many years. She was a long time member of Bible Baptist Church in Savannah, where she was saved in 1970 and taught 1st grade boys Sunday school.

She and her family moved to Hilton Head Island, SC in the summer of 1984 where Janet enjoyed a long career in the banking industry. Janet has been a loving mother, grandmother, devoted wife, and caregiver to her husband in recent years. She was a QVC regular and a connoisseur of Coca-Cola……her sons joke that she should have bought stock in the company.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Loyce Tomlin. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Randy McGarvey, Sr., two sons, Larry (Sue) Barnwell of Traveler's Rest, SC and Randy (Danielle) McGarvey, Jr. of Bluffton, SC, six grandchildren, Sarah, Olivia, Abbey and Luke Barnwell and Rylan and Lela McGarvey, a sister, Sonya Allen of Savannah, Ga and a brother, Tommy (Anita) Tomlin of Statesboro, Ga as well as many nieces and nephews.

Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be held on March 13,2024 at 10:00 am with the service to promptly follow at 11:00 am at the chapel of Sauls Funeral Home 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC

Interment will follow at the Hutcheson Cemetery in Soperton, GA.
