Name: Nancy Grier Hamilton Date: January 10th, 1928 - July 22nd, 2009 Obituary: Nancy Grier Hamilton, 81, of Moss Creek Plantation, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 after a long illness. She was born in Hartford, CT on January 10,1928. She was the daughter of the late Edward Bosworth and Ruth Phelps Grier. She attended Beach Park School and Oxford in West Hartford, CT., Miss Gill’s St. Bernard’s School in Bernardsville, NJ and Ogontz Junior College in Ogontz, PA. She was a provisional member of the Hartford, CT Junior League and an active volunteer at the Institute of Living at Hartford Hospital. She is survived by three daughters, Grier C. Lemme and Melissa C. Shannon of Hilton Head Island, SC and Nancy B. Chase of Madison, CT; one brother, E. Bosworth Grier, Jr. of Madison, CT; one sister, Ruth G. Robinson of Springmills, PA; grandchildren, Jessica S. Payne of St. Maarten, N.A., Chase C. O’Connor of Chicago, IL, Leslie M. and Alexander G. Shannon both of Hilton Head Island, SC. A Memorial Service is planned for Friday, July 31, 2009 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church, Hilton Head Island, SC. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Hilton Head Humane Association, P.O. Box 21790, Hilton Head Island, SC 29925.
