She was born in Tillman, SC on October 8, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Inman and Eunice Jaudon Floyd. She was a retired Social Worker for Jasper County Department of Social Services; School Teacher at Grays High School and Hardeeville Elementary School and she was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed shrimping and gardening. She loved her family. She is survived by her husband, Allison H. Fickling of Ridgeland, SC; one son, Allison H. (Carol) Fickling, Jr. of Tillman, SC; three daughters, Donna Fickling Yatro and Denise Fickling (John D.) Horry, all of Ridgeland, SC; Lynne Fickling (Malcolm) Horry of Okatie, SC; one brother, J. Edwin (Linda Hartough) Floyd, also of Okatie, SC; three sisters, Barbara Floyd Kearson of Okatie, SC; Eunice F. (Claude) Spillards and Lois F. Lowery, both of Ridgeland, SC; seventeen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Marvin I. Floyd. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, September 26, 2009 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 7488 W. Main St., Ridgeland, SC with burial in Floyd Cemetery in Tillman, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm until the hour of service at the church.
