Obituary:
Louis Salvatore D’Aquila, 76, of Bluffton, SC passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at his home. He was born in Middletown, CT on January 31, 1933. He was the son of the late Salvatore and Josephine Spada D’Aquila. He was a retired Laboratory Director for Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, CT. He was a graduate of Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT. He received his masters at Marquette University with advanced studies in Bio-Chemistry at the University of Connecticut. He was a member of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara D’Aquila of Bluffton, SC; four sons, Douglas M. (Maria) D’Aquila of Ellisville, Missouri, Kenneth L. (Nannette) D’Aquila of Burbank, CA, David J. (Lydia) D’Aquila of Smithtown, PA and James J. (Lori) D’Aquila of Yorba Linda, CA; one sister, Angela D’Aquila of Bluffton, SC; five grandsons and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Sebastian D’Aquila and one sister, Rose D’Aquila. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 3, 2009. The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6113, Hilton Head Island, SC 29938.
