He was the son of the late Charles H. and Rita Chartier Beard. He was a successful business owner. He was a former asphalt plant operator and taxi cab owner. He was a motorcycle enthusiast. He was a US Marine Corp Vietnam Veteran. He was a loving father, grandfather and husband. He is survived by his wife, Mary M. Beard of Bluffton, SC; four sons, Derek (Dina) Beard, Michael Beard and Jonathan Beard all of Bluffton, SC and Robert (Nancy) Beard of Charlton, MA; one daughter, Chamoni Doamaral of Bluffton, SC; one sister, Charlene Blake of West Brookfield, MA and grandchildren, Joshua Doamaral, Amber Beard and Remmy Beard. Memorial Services will be held at 6:00 pm, Thursday, January 7, 2010 in the Sauls Funeral Home Chapel, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC.
