Marion Moss Rouse Dutcher died at her home on May 14, 2010 at 300 Woodhaven Drive, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Mrs. Dutcher was preceded in death by her husbands, Franklin O. Rouse and Linton Dutcher. Mrs. Dutcher is survived by her cousins, Gudrun M. Grundvig of Southhampton, NJ, Tom E. Grundvig, of Sherman, CT, Belinda R. Rosen of Medford, NJ, James O. Grundvig of New York City, Franklin O. Grundvig of Houston, TX, Lynne LeCouvre of Santa Barbara, CA, Molly Wrynn of Lompoc, CA; a godson, Norman Coker of Croton-on-Hudson, NY; and a friend and companion, Annie Jenkins of Hardeeville, South Carolina. Mrs. Dutcher and her husband of some 40 plus years, Franklin Rouse, retired to Hilton Head, living on Calibogue for many years. She will be best remembered for partnering with Mr. Rouse to stop the industrialization of Victoria Bluff when the State of South Carolina attempted to locate a fifteen hundred acre BASF petro-chemical plant on the Colleton River. Mr. and Mrs. Rouse spent countless hours capitalizing on Mr. Rouse’s career prior to retirement to stop this industrialization. Mrs. Dutcher was interred beside Mr. Rouse at Six Oaks Garden in Sea Pines. A memorial service will be held at a later time at The Seabrook. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC is assisting the family with their arrangements. (www.saulsfh.com)
