Louis F. Davis, 91, of Hardeeville, SC passed away on Friday, May 21, 2010 in the Hampton Regional Medical Center, Hampton, SC.
He was born in Scotia, SC on October 20, 1918. He was the son of the late William F. and Etta Marie Hodges Davis.
He was the owner of the original Superior Cleaners of Hardeeville. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hardeeville. He was a member and Past Master of the Hardeeville Masonic Lodge and a former member of the Jasper County Development Board. He was a former member of the Jasper County Board of Education. He was a charter member of the Hardeeville Business Development Corporation. He was a former member of the Beaufort – Jasper Water Authority. He was a charter member of the Hardeeville Chamber of Commerce; a US Army veteran of World War II who served in the South Pacific.
He is survived by his son, Al (Kathy) Davis of Varnville, SC; two grandchildren, Gene Davis of Crocketville, SC and Shannon Davis of Modock, SC; four great grandchildren, Mason, Evan, Josh and Summer Davis. He was predeceased by his brother, Herbert Davis and sisters, Ernestine Brooks, Bernice Solomons, Louise Brown and Adelle Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 23, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Hardeeville, SC with burial in Purrysburg Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Hardeeville, PO Box 522, Hardeeville, SC 29927.
