He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 29, 1931. He was the son of the late Albert and Eleanor Sheehan Donovan. He was a retired Physician who practiced internal medicine in Pittsburgh at the Passavant Hospital. He was a US Air Force Veteran. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hardeeville, SC. He is survived by his wife, Carol C. Donovan of Bluffton, SC; one son, Robert J. Donovan Jr. of Orlando, FL; three daughters, Maggie (Paul) Gilligan of Charlotte, NC, Maureen (Lee) Topley of Lexington, KY and Mary Patricia (Kevin) Hiles of Pittsburgh, PA; two step daughters, Susan Lee Morse of Oberlin, OH and Karen Anne (Gary) Selinsky of Pittsburgh, PA; eight grandchildren, Joey, Chris, Bridget, Katie, Shannon, Cara, Colleen, Jacob; three step grandchildren, Ashley, Elle and Madeline. He was predeceased by one brother, Thomas Donovan. Services will be held at a later date in Pittsburgh, PA. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC and Walter J.
