Betty J. Neuman, of Bluffton, SC beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on January 30, 2019 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on October 22, 1944 in Ephrata, WA daughter of William and Evelyn Daggitt. A graduate of the American High School in Tokyo, Japan, Betty received her B.S. Degree in English from Illinois State University where she met her college sweetheart Milton. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her sister Susan and brother Robert. She is survived by her husband Milton, siblings Michael (Betty), Steven (Susan), John (Caroline), Christine (Michael), and children Jeffrey (Jasmin), Jonathan (Angela), Christine (Kevin), David, and twelve grandchildren. Along with her devotion to her Catholic faith and family, Betty loved tennis, sewing, genealogy, bridge, travel, DAR, and was a dedicated teacher of English, ESOL, and Citizenship classes. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 8, 2019 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 31 Saint Gregory Drive, Bluffton, SC 29909. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
