Dave Wiley, age 72, of Beaufort, SC and formerly of Hudson, MA died Thursday, September 27, 2018.
Mr. Wiley was born on June 8, 1946 in Red Bank, NJ, the son of the late Ross and Esther Wiley. He was a graduate of the University of Delaware where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. While at the University of Delaware he pledged and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Following his formal education he began his career as a civil engineer with Dravo Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA. He later worked with Hardaway Construction, but ultimately retired from Kiewit Corporation in Omaha, NE. After retiring he continued working as a consultant with Zachry Construction Corporation. He was a member of Trinity Lodge #208, F. & A.M.’s in Davenport, IA and while living in South Carolina was a member of Bluffton United Methodist Church. Dave enjoyed Lionel Trains, duck and goose hunting, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
Mr. Wiley was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Richter and his brother-in-law, Jack Richter. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Susan Wiley; sons, David Ross Wiley, Jr. (Sayon) and Matthew Wiley (Amanda); daughter, Sara Boyles (Shannon); grandchildren, Ross, Finn, Sailor, Jett, and Owen; sisters-in-law, Judy Fowler (Tom) and Deborah Faulhaber; his beloved dog, Sully; and a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Bluffton United Methodist Church, 101 Calhoun Street, Bluffton, SC 29910. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
