David Dimling Obituary

David Grason Dimling lived in Baltimore, MD until he moved to Bluffton, SC in 2005. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Civil Engineer, sole proprietor of Dimling Construction, devoted husband, adoring father, loving grandfather, avid golfer and friend of everyone he met. Those are just minor aspects of a man who lived an amazing life according to core values that were clear to anyone that ever interacted with him. A life that included the love of his life, Susan, who was not only his wife, but also his best friend. Amongst the adventures of their lives together, none were more important or fulfilling to him than his two wonderful daughters, Whitney and Ashley. As much as he loved Susan, he also adored his beautiful children with all his heart and nothing was ever put before his family, which also included sister, Dee, late brother, Dick, brother-in-law, Rick, nieces, Deborah and Beth, nephew, Chuck, sons-in-law, Eric and Joe, along with three lovely grandchildren, Ellie, Tyler and Emily and all other extended members. He always kept busy utilizing his creative mind and workman hands, whether it was designing and creating plans for clients or figuring out how to get out of trouble on the golf course and executing the shot. A strong man in both stature and mind, there was nothing that he wasn't capable of doing physically nor was there any challenge he couldn't conquer once he put his mind to it. Even after a diagnosis of cancer in 2017, that grit and determination was on full display with an uplifting attitude and a complaint free mentality. Unfortunately the foe that is cancer was too difficult for even the strongest of strong and mightiest of mighty. With his three most precious gifts by his side, Susan, Whitney and Ashley, Dave left the body that was fighting against him in order to continue his amazing adventures with those that came before him. He left a legacy that will continue for generations and his mark will always be felt by those who he encountered. Rest in peace and play it where it lies.
