Helene Maria Pinckney, born June 11, 1964 in Landstuhl, Germany passed away December 30, 2019 in Savannah, Georgia, surrounded by close family and friends.
She was born to a German mother and American Father. Her family lived in Japan, the Philippines, and the US. Helene spent most of her life in the South Carolina Lowcountry.
Helene’s spirit leaves her son Brandon Oelgoetz of 31 years, his partner Taylor North; her grandson Phoenix Oelgoetz of 2 years; her daughter Jordan Gartner of 29 years; her daughter Rachel Langford of 20 years; her sister Nancy White and her husband John White; her brother William Pinckney; her dear friends; her beloved dog, Dieter. Her spirit joins her mother, Maria Pinckney and her father, William Pinckney.
Helene spoke German and English fluently. Helene always held occupations that allowed her to be with and help others. She was a barber in her early adulthood, and a caretaker more recently.
Helene loved to spend time with her loved ones, going to see live music, lounging at the beach or on the river, going out for sushi, camping, traveling to visit family and friends. She had a laugh that would turn heads, making people wonder what bright spirit it belonged to. She loved to dance and knew how to feel the music. She was quick to love and forgive, and slow to be sad or upset.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 18, 2020 at Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton, SC at 3pm where friends and family are encouraged to come together to rejoice in and reflect on her life.
