Judith Malacarne Frank

Judith Malacarne Frank, age 73, of Ridgeland passed away on September 23. 2018 at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, after battling a rare respiratory illness.

Known as Judy to her friends, she was born on May 21, 1945 in Alexandria, Virginia. She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and then Carlow College. With a passion for being productive and the ability to utilize her talents in a variety of ways, she had several careers.  She loved her years as a teacher, a source of great pride, saying, "once a teacher, always a teacher." After leaving the classroom she continued to share her wisdom with all who knew her. Her second career was as a very successful real estate agent in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.. After marrying George Frank she moved to Ridgeland, South Carolina where she managed Empress Arabians Horse Farms, breeding and training Arabian horses. When the farm closed she began serving Jasper County as Clerk to Council, where she worked until the onset of her illness this year.  She was active in countless service projects that improved the lives of others both globally and locally. An advocate for Jasper County senior citizens, she was chairman of the board for the Jasper County Council on Aging. She loved encouraging others in person and through Facebook and everything related to pageants. She always had her suitcase ready for a trip.

Though she was successful in the workplace and community, by far her greatest success was the role she played in the lives of her family and friends. Judy was a loving wife to the late George M. Frank, a devoted mother to Don Lindich, Tricia Etheridge, Michelle Cheadle, Mark Frank, and the late Anthony Frank, and a doting grandmother to Kyle and Cory Cheadle and Brodie and Victoria Etheridge, She cherished her sisters and their husbands  Patty and Robert Young and Linda and David Abati. Their husbands Robert and David and their children and grandchildren brought her much joy.

Judy's family will be receiving friends from 10:00 am until the hour of the funeral service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Gillisonville Baptist Church.
