Lawrence J. Bonner, age 74, and resident of Sun City in Bluffton passed away on September 15, 2018 at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC.
Mr. Bonner was born in Coaldale, Pennsylvania on February 19, 1944 to the late Robert Bonner and Jean Mohrbach. Mr. Bonner was a computer programmer and manager for J.T. Baker Chemical Company in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. He graduated from Frankfort High School in Philadelphia, PA where he excelled at running track and later graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He enjoyed being involved in scouting with his son and served as a Cub Scout Cubmaster and Boy Scout Assistant Scoutmaster.
Mr. Bonner was a former Commander of the Sun City Veterans Association. He was in the United States Army and completed basic training in 1965 at Fort Knox in Kentucky. He enjoyed football, basketball, automobile racing, automobiles, genealogy, photography and cooking. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret A. Bonner.
He is survived by his son Christopher L. Bonner of Lexington, SC, Kelly J. Bright (Roger) of Osprey, FL, and grandchildren: Juliette Bright and James Bright.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC.
