Lucille (Lucy) Fleming Naughton, 84, passed away at home on Hilton Head Island, SC on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. She was born on July 25, 1934 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of James and Marie Fleming. Her parents and her brothers Patrick and James predeceased her. She is survived by her husband, Ronald F. Naughton, her daughters Kathleen Shipe and husband Gregory, Plymouth, MN, Christine Hahn, Rock Hill, SC, Deborah Kreinbrink and husband Mark, Lewis Center, OH, grandsons Brian Shipe, Minneapolis, MN, Andrew Shipe, Brainerd, MN, granddaughter Lauren Kreinbrink, Lewis Center, OH, and several nieces and nephews. Lucille attended Indiana State Teacher’s College, Indiana, PA.
She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. In 1955 she was awarded a BS in Elementary Education. She became a teacher and attended classes at the University of Pittsburgh for which she received a Master’s Degree in Special Education. Lucille supervised the Special Education Programs and teachers in private schools in Allegheny County for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit while the unit was active and then, as a Master Teacher, supervised the Special Education Programs and teachers at Hampton Township School District until her retirement in 1998.
Visitation will be held at Sauls Funeral Home from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, followed by services on Monday afternoon, October 22, 2018.
