Mary Ann Bishop

Mary Ann Bishop, of Okatie and widow of Reynold Glenn Bishop, passed away on July 2, 2019 at Landmark Hospital, Savannah, GA at the age of 85.

Mrs. Bishop was born on March 27, 1934 in Ridgeland, SC to the late Charlie M. Browning Sr. and Willie Ada Scoggins Browning.  She and her husband were residents of Beaufort County.

Mrs. Bishop was a faithful member at Okatee Baptist Church where she served as the pianist, sang in the choir and enjoyed her Sunday School Class.  Mrs. Bishop, before joining Okatee Baptist Church, served as pianist for other churches in the Ridgeland area.  Mrs. Bishop retired from the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bishop is predeceased in death by her brother, who was killed in the Korean War, Marshall Browning.  She is survived by her son, Marshall G. Bishop (Jan) of Okatie, SC; her daughter, Willene Beaty (David) of Ridgeland and her beloved grandchildren, Alec, Brannen, Jaron (Stephanie) Bishop, and Chad Beaty and her great grandson, Stanton C. Bishop.

Mrs. Bishop’s family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Okatee Baptist Church, 5467 North Okatie Highway, Ridgeland, SC until the hour of her funeral service at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow the service at Ridgeland Cemetery.
