Mary Elizabeth (Thompson) Nelson, born May 5, 1935 in Cleveland, GA, the youngest of six children, to Thomas Claude and Mary Pauline Thompson, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019.

Mary joins her loving parents, five siblings, daughter, Sharon Nelson, son, David Nelson, (grand) son James Nelson, and granddaughter, Deidra Roberts in the Lord’s Kingdom.

She leaves behind son, Melton Nelson (Chong); daughter, Karon Roberts (Danny); (grand) daughter, Heather Harris (Michael); grandchildren, Daniel Nelson, Kevin Nelson, Tony Roberts, Nick Nelson (Courtney), Mary Malphrus (Garrett), Christa Williams (Robert), Sherri Nelson, Jessie Stanley; fifteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mary, affectionately known as GG, was a selfless woman dedicated to her family with a soul that was kind, funny, forgiving, caring, and savage. She will be remembered for her unconditional love, strength, courage, wisdom, and faith. To know her was to love her, and in her own words, “It was a wonderful life.”
