Robert W. "Bob" Mooney

Hilton Head, SC - Robert W. Mooney "Bob" 82 died Tuesday, July 23 peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newark, NJ, Bob was raised in Belleville, and  graduated from Belleville H.S. in 1954. He worked for Winans McShane, Cedar Knolls, NJ for 30+ years in sales before retiring to Hilton Head Island, SC in 1999, where he resided prior to his passing. During his younger years Bob coached little league baseball and was a volunteer Firefighter for the White Meadow Lake Fire Dept. Rockaway, NJ as well as an avid bowler. Bob met and married the love of his life, "Barbara" in May of 1956. They then started a family, eventually buying a home in West Orange, NJ. Bob loved to play golf and always enjoyed spending time with his family. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Barbara (nee Lorenzo), children Scott (Kathy), Denise Zawacky (John), Donna McDonnell (John), Adam, Debra Macaluso (Salvatore) and the light of his life, granddaughter Juliana Macaluso. Visitation Monday, July 29, 5pm - 7pm at Sauls Funeral Home, Bluffton, SC.  Funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 30th, 11am at Holy Family Catholic Church, Hilton Head, SC.  In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.  A celebration of life will be held in NJ at a later date.
