Steven Vernon Mobley, age 72 of Ridgeland passed away on November 8, 2019 at the Ralph H. Johnson Veterans Hospital in Charleston.
Steven was born in Savannah, GA on February 14, 1947 to the late Philip Taylor and Sara Greenwood Taylor. Steven was a US Army veteran serving two tours in Vietnam and one in Korea. During this time, he served as Game Warden at Fort Stewart which inspired his passion for hunting and fishing. After his service in the Army he returned to Ridgeland where, for over 30 years, was a Master Welder for Malphrus Construction. Steven was a Baptist and attended Great Swamp Baptist Church.
Steven is survived by his sisters, Susan Self (Danny); Phyllis Pinion (Donnie); his nephew, Steven Self; two nieces, Tiffanee Self and Sara Redmond; two great nephews, Heath Redmond Pinion and Shawn Lee Redmond; one aunt, Katie Greenwood; several cousins and lifelong friends, Ed and Catherine Slowik and Larry Parr.
Services, with military honors, will be held at Beaufort National Cemetery at a later date.
