Wilbur Crandell “Bill” Tupman, age 91, of Hampton Pointe and formerly of McLean, VA died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Coastal Carolina Medical Center.
Mr. Tupman was born on August 14, 1927 in Washington, DC, the son of the late Sherrard and Mary Tupman. He was a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in Washington. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in naval aviation. Following his military tenure he began his formal education at Georgia Tech, earning a Bachelor’s of Industrial Engineering. He continued at George Washington University where he earned a degree in law. Bill practiced for over 30 years as a Patent Attorney in McLean, VA. Following his retirement he was an active options trader. Outside of work, he was an avid golfer.
Mr. Tupman is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marguerite “Sunny” Tupman; sons, Dr. Stephen C. Tupman (Victoria), Kenneth W. Tupman, and William P. Tupman; and three grandchildren.
Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is assisting the family with a private funeral service.
