Charles "Dan" Lawrence

Charles "Dan" Lawrence, 67, of Ridgeland, SC, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort, SC.

Mr. Lawrence was born January 14, 1951 in Ridgeland, SC. He received his high school diploma from Ridgeland High School and went on to graduate from South Carolina State University and received his MBA from Armstrong University. He was a CPA who practiced in Maryland and South Carolina. Later, he became a professor at Prince George Community College in Prince George, MD and at Savannah State University in Savannah, GA. He loved his work, and taking his family on vacation. He was a pillar of his community.

In addition to his faithful companion, Bernice Logan of Ridgeland, SC, Mr. Lawrence is survived by his sons, Kevin Lawrence of Columbia, SC and Anthony Lawrence of Ridgeland, SC; daughters, Veronica Watson (Anton) of Ridgeland, SC and Karen James (Seaford) of Ridgeland, SC; brothers, Clyde Heyward (Joyce) of Ridgeland, SC; sister, Genevieve Heyward of Ridgeland, SC; one grandchild and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Heyward.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, January 29, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Center, 3763 Bees Creek Rd, Ridgeland, SC with burial in Grahamville Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland.
