Cynthia Leigh Williams

Cynthia Leigh Williams, 62, died on November 27, 2018, in Hilton Head, South Carolina, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Cindy was born on September 6, 1956, in Fairfax, Virginia, to William “Bill” Alonzo Williams, Jr., and Doris Giddens Williams. She spent most of her childhood in Maryland with her parents and older brother, William “Bill” Alonzo Williams, III. She attended the University of Georgia and graduated with a degree in Horticulture. Cindy lived on Kiawah Island, South Carolina, for many years before moving to Bluffton, South Carolina, where she lived the remainder of her life.

Cindy was a very caring person who loved her family and friends dearly. She spent many years of her life caring for her parents before they passed. She also loved her two dachshunds, Coco and Bailey, and found great joy sharing her life with them. Cindy loved gardening and will always be remembered for her beautiful plants and flowers throughout her home. Cindy was also an avid sports fan, from golf to football to baseball, she will be remembered as always watching some event and especially cheering “Go Dawgs” in the Fall.

Cindy is survived by her nephew, Kyle Williams, and his son Brayden Williams of Newport News, Virginia, her niece, Chelsie Williams of Virginia Beach, Virginia, her sister-in-law, Kathie Williams, of Newport News, Virginia, her uncle and aunt, Bob and Emily Giddens, of Estero, Florida, and her aunt and uncle, Marian and Charles Sidbury of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Cindy is preceded in death by both of her parents and older brother.

Cindy will be missed by her family and friends and was loved dearly by them all.  May she rest in peace now, without pain and suffering. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
