Rose Tiscio

Rose B. Tiscio, age 97, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Pasadena, CA and West Orange, NJ died on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Bloom at Belfair, Bluffton, SC.

Mrs. Tiscio was born on November 27, 1925 in Pasadena, CA, the daughter of Vincent and Mary {Guerino} Merlino. She met her husband, Joe, stationed in CA before he was deployed to the Philippines in 1942.  After the war, they were married in CA and honeymoon to NJ where they raised their family.   They resided there until 2005 when they moved to Bluffton, SC.  Rose survived the death of her beloved husband Joe, who passed August 26, 2020.

Rose was a stay at home mom, during her children’s formative years.   She enjoyed many hobbies, which included, playing the piano, painting, writing poetry, crocheting and decorating.  She had a remarkable career, for over 30 years, as Administrative Assistant to the Township of West Orange’s three Business Administrators.  She was respected by her coworkers and admired for her knowledge, experience, and professionalism.

Rose will be remembered as a gentle, kind and loving mom and an excellent homemaker.  She was a soft spoken and gentile lady. Her memory will be cherished and will be in the hearts of her family and those who knew her forever.

Mrs. Tiscio is survived by her daughters Karen (Tiscio) Mustachio and Jane Tiscio Massa, grandchildren Joseph Mills, and Carolyn Marquez, grandson-in-law Ryan Marquez, and great grand children, Reese and Olivia Marquez.

Funeral mass for both Joseph and Rose Tiscio will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 10:30 am at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Bluffton, SC 29910.
