Abraham Young, 93, of Bluffton, SC passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at NHC-Bluffton.
He was born on June 16, 1920 in Trenton, NJ and was the son of the late Louis and Dora Steingrob Young.
He was the owner of the Veterans Meat Market and the Public Meat Market both in Trenton, NJ and Mr. Magic Car Wash in Trenton, NJ. He was a veteran of WWII served as a First Lieutenant and as a US Army as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division - European Theatre. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and playing tennis. He was Jewish and a Mason. Member of Trenton Cyrus Masonic Lodge #5; member Jewish Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was predeceased by his wife Virdee Rainy Young, son Robert Joseph Young, brother Herman Young, sister Ida Kessel, brother in law, Joe Kessel, and son-in-law Tom Tomaszewski.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" Winkler (Michael) of Bluffton, SC, Eleanor Litman (Delvin) of Ellicott City, MD and Georgetown, SC and Gloria Tomaszewski of Bluffton, SC; son, Richard Young (Deborah) of Lagrangeville, NY; sister-in-law Sandra Young of Yardley, PA; 7 grandchildren, Kurt and Katie Winkler, David, Matt, and Michael Litman and Danielle and Nicole Young; 10 great-grandchildren, Bennett, Brynn, Brennen, and Beckett Winkler, Jake, Audrey, and Eli Litman, Drew and Joanna Litman and Aidan Lake; and nieces and nephews, Dr. Larry Kessel (Shirley), Jamie Satz (Steve), Dr. Danny Kessel (Jody), Barrie Merlino (Steve), Jay Young, and Robbie Young (Virginia).
Services will be held at Orland's Ewing Memorial Chapel in Ewing Township, NJ at a later date.
