Addie Mae Long Tuten

Addie Mae Long Tuten, 91, of Estill, SC passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at her home.

Addie Mae was born April 3, 1931 in Furman, SC to the late Woodford Grady Long and Hannah Rebecca Wooten Long. She worked many years as an IT person for Dr. Harrison Peoples. She was a member of Steep Bottom Baptist Church, where she enjoyed playing the piano for Sunday morning services. Addie Mae also enjoyed tending to her garden and crocheting. She was known for her cooking, especially her fruitcakes at Christmas time.

Addie Mae is survived by her sons, James E. Tuten, Jr. of Estill, SC and Gerald L. Tuten (Peggy) of Ridgeland, SC; daughter, Kathie Bauer of Estill, SC; grandchildren, Lori Tuten, Dennis Shreve, Shawn Shreve, Kimberly Ratliff, Holly Kesler, Shannon Keith, and Ashley Tuten; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Tuten, Sr.; brother, W. Grady Long, Jr.; sisters, Jennie DeLoach, Thelma Bowers, Gladys Tuten, Lizzie Bowers, and Lois King; and one grandchild, Brandon Bauer.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 3, 2023 at Steep Bottom Baptist Church, Furman, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am until the hour of the service at the church. Burial will follow in Steep Bottom Cemetery.
