Agnes Jean Connors, 87, of Moseley, VA, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, in Richmond, Virginia, with her daughter, Kathy, by her side.
Her siblings that preceded her are: Joan Wentling; Darrell Lauritzen and Mark Lauritzen; she is survived by her siblings Howard Lauritzen; David Lauritizen ; Mary Lou and sister-in-law, Linda Lauritzen.
Jean was born on August 27, 1937, in Walnut, Illinois, to the late LaVerne “Bud” Lauritzen and Eileen Brandenburg Lauritzen. Jean was rooted in Midwestern values that shaped her life of devotion and quiet strength. She carried those values with her throughout her years, nurturing a family and faith that remained central to her identity.
A devout Catholic, Jean found deep meaning and community through her church and bible study groups. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life and a source of comfort to those around her. Whether attending mass or participating in scripture discussions, she embraced her beliefs with sincerity and grace.
Jean shared many cherished years with her husband, James H. Connors Jr., who preceded her in death. Together they built a loving home and raised two children, James H. Connors, III (Lori) and Kathleen C Milligan (Bill). Her role as a mother—and later as a grandmother—was one she held close to her heart. Time spent with her grandchildren: Bronson, Marlowe, Connor and Kevin, brought her immense joy; she delighted in their company and celebrated their milestones with pride.
An active spirit well into her later years, Jean enjoyed walking and staying physically active. Her daily routines often included long walks that allowed for reflection and connection with the world around her. These simple pleasures were among the many ways she embraced life fully.
May the memory of Agnes Jean Connors bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Funeral Mass will be held on May 15, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Bluffton, SC, followed by an Interment at Beaufort National Cemetery, In Beaufort, SC at 1:00 PM.
