Aida Lovekamp

Aida Bumidang Lovekamp passed away on December 22, 2025, at the age of 85. Aida was born on May 18, 1940, in Balaoan LaUnion, Philippines to Ricardo Bumidang and Francesca Peralta. She was one of five (Faye Arguelles, Fina Heinen, Theodore Bumidang and Francis Bumidang). She completed her Bachelors’ degree in Nursing in 1963, and shortly thereafter traveled to the United States. She worked at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, American Hospital in Chicago, and Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights from 1963 to 1997.

Aida met the love of her life in 1964. She married her best friend, David Lovekamp on August 6, 1966. Together they had two sons, Mark (1969) and Sean (1972). In 1970, David and Aida moved to Rolling Meadows, Illinois. In 1997, David and Aida moved to Bluffton, South Carolina due to David’s job relocating. From there, she found her love for golf, and met a group of ladies call the Rosebuds. They had the same love for golf and their community, and she developed many long-lasting relationships.

Aida enjoyed life and spending her time with her family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a giving soul, and loved her family more than anything else.

Aida is predeceased by her father Ricardo, her mother Francesca, her brothers Thoedore and Francis, and is survived by her husband, David, her sons, Mark and Sean, two sisters Faye and Fina, and five grandchildren.

Aida touched many lives, leaving us with amazing memories, and she will be forever missed.
