Aileen Ann (Mcqueen) Jaczko

April 19, 1937 — December 6, 2023

Aileen Jaczko, age 86, of Bluffton, South Carolina died at home on December 6, 2023.  She was born on April 19, 1937 in the Bronx, NY to the late Walter and Dorothy Bracht McQueen.  She attended St. Barnabas High School and married the love of her life, Eugene Jaczko, Jr., whose career as a Marine Corps officer took them to live in many parts of the United States, as well as Sasebo, Japan

Aileen was a mother to three, grandmother to five, a devoted wife, and beloved friend.  She had a thirst for travel, visiting all 50 states and over 30 countries, and just this year, visited the Greek Isles.  Aileen passionately supported the military, and as the wife of a Marine Corps officer, she could often be found welcoming troops as their ships came home from a tour of duty.

Aileen is survived by her children Stephanie Cowperthwaite (Russ); Susan Gaca (Paul); Chris Jaczko (Karen); and her grandchildren, Brett Gaca; Brandon Gaca; Cameron Cowperthwaite; Taryn Jaczko, and Cole Jaczko.  She is also survived by her sister, Marjory O’Brien of Delmar, NY, and her brother, George McQueen (Mary) of Bluffton, SC.  Aileen was preceded in death by her youngest brother, Robert McQueen (Pat) of Bronxville, NY.  Along with Aileen’s immediate family, she will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Bluffton, SC at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 22, 2024.  The family will receive guests one hour prior to the mass in the vestibule of the church.  Aileen will be buried with her husband at Beaufort Memorial National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a military or other charity of your choice.

Rest in peace, Aileen.  You will be missed.
