Albertha Mitchell

December 4, 1948 — December 11, 2016

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

Albertha Mitchell, the daughter of the late Lee, Sr. and Romenia Jenkins Mitchell was born on December 4, 1948 of Ridgeland, South Carolina.

Albertha who was affectionally called “Teeny Gal” attended Michael C. Riley High School in Bluffton, South Carolina. She was employed with the Spring Island Country Club. Albertha was a member of Campbell Chapel AME Church of Bluffton, SC. While active, she was a faithful member of the Young Adult Choir and a member of the Usher board. Albertha was very quiet with a contagious smile and a shy laughter. She was a devoted sister, helping anyone she could, and always with a kind word for others. She loved everyone she met.

After eating her last meal, Albertha quietly departed this life on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at their home. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jannie Mae Mitchell; five brothers, Steven Jenkins, Lee Mitchell, Jr., Abraham Mitchell, James Mitchell, and Collin Mitchell. Albertha leaves behind to cherish precious memories, her loving and caring sister, Carrie Bell Mitchell of Ridgeland, SC., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
