Albertus Altman Smith

Albertus Altman Smith, 80, widow of the late Leon Smith, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center in Hilton Head Island, SC. She was born in Ridgeland, SC on August 20, 1932 to the late Heyward Altman and Evie Nettles Altman. She was a Homemaker. She was also formerly employed as a waitress, having worked at the Palmetto Grill and the Plantation Restaurant. She was a Christian who loved her faith and her family. She loved flowers and gardening. She is survived by her sons, Edward S. Horry, III and Leon B. (Rene) Smith, both of Ridgeland, SC; stepson, Ricky (Elaine) Smith of Hampton, S.C.; daughters, Dawn Yvette (Perry) Hubbard of Okatie, SC; Resa (Deak) Malphrus and Oregon H. (Rusty) Cooler, all of Ridgeland, SC; stepdaughters, Marsha (Marty) Gibson and Phyllis (Ricky) Warren, all of Hampton, SC; brother, David Collins of Ridgeland, SC; grandchildren, Brooke & Gavin Smith, Ashley Pender, Dixie Hubbard, Michelle Hubbard, Jessica Hubbard, Deak Malphrus, Hillary Taylor, Yates Cooler, Edward Horry, IV, Dana Rouas, Ricky Horry; Jonah (Lani) Jenkins and Wes Horry; great grandchildren,Grace Malphrus, Perry Pender, Savannah Pender, River Pender, Russell Cooler, III, Emory Cooler, Georgia Horry, Chance Horry, Caroline Taylor, Ward Taylor, Adrian Jenkins; Frankie Lemus, Brian Lemus, Jacob Lemus, Aaron Lemus, Kaelyn Lemus, Leann Horry, Joshua Horry, Danelle Horry and Chelsea Horry and one great, great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Smith; sister, Jeanette Dressler; grandson, Brian Horry and granddaughter, Rachel Cooler. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 28, 2013 at Sauls Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland, SC with burial in Grahamville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the hour of service at the funeral home. Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family with their arrangements.
