Alfred Eugene Gill

Alfred Eugene Gill, 87 of Beaufort, SC passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at his home. He was born in Ridgeland, SC on December 31, 1927 to the late P.D. Gill Sr. and Indie Woods Gill. He was the owner of Sea Island Supply Company. He was a former member of the Sea Island Rotary Club and was a charter member of the Beaufort Power Squadron. He was a WWII veteran, serving with the US Army Medical Corps. He was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Ridgeland. He enjoyed boating and fishing and was an avid Gamecock fan. He is survived by three daughters, Toni Dowling (Ray) of Bluffton, Indie Harris of Bluffton and Lisa Ranger (Brian) of Beaufort; grandchildren, Danielle Jones and Jimmy Ranger; great grandchild, Finn Jones and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, P.D. Gill Jr., and his sisters, Glennie Snyder, Lorraine Hurley and Doris Nation. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 9, 2015 at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC.
