Alva Norris Dean

Alva Norris Dean, 87 of Ridgeland, SC passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at his home.He was born in Ridgeland, SC on September 9, 1923. He was the son of the late Percy Benjamin Dean and Edna Eibes Dean.He was a retired Educator who taught for many years at Hardeeville, Ridgeland and Grays schools. He was a graduate of Georgia Southern University; a US Navy Veteran of WWII and was present at the Liberation of Philippines; former owner of Voyager Furniture Manufacturing, Co.; member of Jasper County Historical Society and was an expert Historian on Jasper County. He was a Board member of Palmetto Electric Trust; Jasper County Museum Commission; charter member of St. Anthony
