Andrea K. Koenig, 67, of Bluffton, died September 11, 2012 at Coastal Carolina Medical Center.She was born in Washington, D.C. on July 24, 1945 the daughter of Florence Kokat Rogozinski Osterstock and Zygmund Rogozinski.Mrs. Koenig was a highly acclaimed educator and freelance writer. She received her B.A. from Illinois College, a Masters in Liberal Studies from New York University and a Masters in Guidance and Counseling from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois. She taught locally at H.E. McCracken Middle School and at the Technical College of the Lowcountry. She has served as a lecturer in English at Dominican College in New York and at East Ramapo Academy in Spring Valley, NY, where she was an alternative education and English teacher.She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. She organized Pine Lakes Birthday Club and was a member of several literary clubs in Sun City.She is survived be her husband, Theodore A. Koenig of Bluffton, SC; son Audie R. Koenig (Christine) of Monroe, NY; daughter Katherine Kaponer (Richard) of Bluffton, SC; and 2 granddaughters, Jacqueline Koenig and Emily Rose Koenig.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am, Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 4 pm until 6 pm, and on Monday, September 17, 2012 from 6 until 8 pm, with a wake service beginning at 7:30, at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton.
