Andrew "Drew" Toney

May 10, 1979 — September 5, 2022

On Monday, September 5, 2022 the most fun-loving, kind, generous, and loyal son, brother, fiancé, and friend Andrew (Drew, also known as DT) Toney of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina died suddenly at his home surrounded by his loving dogs, Lawton and Churchill.

He was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia on May 10, 1979 to his loving parents Dennis Eugene Toney and Pamela Sue Hanley Toney.

Drew graduated from Cardinal Newman High School in Columbia, SC in 1997 and attended Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island before transferring and receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia in 2001. He then received his Juris Doctorate from Pennsylvania State University Dickinson Law in 2004. Upon graduation, Drew was an attorney in Columbia for 7 years before moving to Hilton Head Island to work at Mullen Wylie law firm for the last 12 years.

Drew was a diehard Georgia Bulldogs fan, lucky enough to attend and celebrate the National Championship in 2021. He also couldn’t miss a Manchester United soccer match or the England Cricket team, often up at the crack of dawn to watch the games. He built trusted partnerships and friendships with colleagues, peers and friends during his time on the island. You could always catch him running over the Cross Island Bridge or on the golf course. He lived life to the fullest.

He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Helen and Jesse Toney, and maternal grandparents, Lt. Col. Paul and Kathleen Hanley; and Georgia the dog. Surviving are his mother and father Pam and Dennis Toney of Bluffton, SC; his sister Allison Toney of Richmond, VA; the love of his life & fiancé Amy Williamson and her daughter Tylee of Jacksonville, FL.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 17 at All Saints Episcopal Church on Hilton Head Island followed by a reception at Skull Creek Boathouse.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the   Greater Bluffton Jasper County Volunteers in Medicine   , the   University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital   or to   Swim Jax   . Drew had a dream for Tylee to one day be a swimmer for his beloved bulldogs.
