In Loving Memory of Andrew John “Jack” Tuney III May 9, 1951 – June 8, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew John “Jack” Tuney III, who departed this life on June 8, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him. Born on May 9, 1951, Jack lived a life full of service, family, music, and sports—a man known as much for his steadfast integrity as for his vibrant personality and million-dollar smile.

Lovingly known to everyone as "Jack", he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Anita Tuney of Bluffton, South Carolina. The two married on September 11, 1999, and shared 28 years of love and partnership.

Jack is also survived by his two children:

Matthew Boyd Tuney of Myrtle Beach, SC, married to Kim Tuney, and their son Jack Sydney Tuney,

and Jaclyn Boyd Barker, married to Bryan Barker, and their children William Boyd (Bo) Barker and Brooke Paisley Barker.

He was predeceased by his father, Andrew John Tuney Jr., and is survived by his mother, Joan Tuney, as well as his siblings: Russ Tuney, Andrea Holbrook, Jeanne Elliot, and Barbara Viera. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Jack.

A proud graduate of Georgetown High School (Massachusetts), Class of 1969, Jack entered public service shortly, thereafter, beginning his career in law enforcement with the Georgetown Police Department. He went on to serve with distinction as Chief of Police for the Town of Newbury, MA.

After retiring from law enforcement, Jack worked as a private investigator before relocating to South Carolina in 1994. There, he transitioned into a successful career in real estate, which he continued until his retirement in 2019.

Jack had a passion for life that was evident in all he did. He loved Boston sports, playing golf, and above all, music. A talented performer, he was the lead singer of a band and brought joy to countless weddings and events through his voice and presence.

A memorial service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:15 am until the time of the service.
