Ann Pearlstein

Ann was born on July 24, 1937 in the town of Landshut, Germany. She was only four years old when World War II broke out. Her father, Otto Huber, never returned from the war. Her childhood, with her brother Rupert, was non-stop work, helping with all sorts of chores, along with their mother, Katherine. Ann's mother eventually remarried a wonderful man, Leo, who gave Ann a beautiful step-sister named Christa. In spite of the difficult life caused by a terrible war, Ann never lost her smile or love for others, and was always there with a helping hand. She was predeceased by her mother, her father, her step-father, her brother, Rupert, and her step-sister, Christa. She remained in loving touch with her family in Germany, including her brother-in-law, Willi, nephew, Stefan, and her brother's wife, Jutta.

In 1958, Ann met her future husband while he served his tour of duty with the Army. In 1962, Ann arrived in the USA and, upon converting to Judaism, married her husband, Marvin. They had a wonderful life together, raised a daughter, Denise, and a son, Glen, who were a blessing to their parents, and gave them the joy of having four grandchildren, Marc, Monica, Benjamin and Owen. She was loved by her son-in-law, Tom, and daughter-in-law, Alexandra. She was very close with her sisters-in-law, Barbara, Sheva, and Celia, and loved by her brothers-in-law, Bud, Joe, and Norman.

Ann spent many years hosting Thanksgiving dinners with her extended family of three nieces and six nephews, along with their parents, while running her own business called Contemporary Lady in Matawan, NJ. As difficult as it was to prepare for this occasion, she enjoyed every moment of the festivities, as well as the Passover holidays. As it turned out, years later, her devotion to family was returned with so much love that was obvious during her 80th surprise birthday party.

Upon retiring, Ann and Marvin moved to Del Webb Sun City Hilton Head. She was a tennis player and an avid gardener, as well as a member of the Shalom Club, the Sun City Community Theater, and the Sisterhood of Temple Oseh Shalom.

Ann will be missed by her children, and nieces and nephews, who she dearly loved, and her lifelong friends.
