Anne Starr Hughes

Anne Starr Hughes was born in Ridgeland SC on September 3, 1949 and after a courageous battle with cancer, she passed away on July 26, 2024 at her home. Anne graduated from Columbia College after only three years continuing to obtain her masters degree in public administration from the University of South Carolina. Anne qualified as an expert witness for Title Research, family trees and the 14th Judicial Circuit of South Carolina. She loved the Gamecocks, salt water, Pluff mud and dogs. Anne was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Ridgeland. Anne is survived by her husband, Robert Milton Hughes (Bob) and her brother, R. Thayer Rivers (Helen) and Michael Rivers (Jane). Anne was predeceased by her parents, R. Thayer Rivers Sr. and Mary Mixon Rivers. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Ridgeland Cemetery.
