Annie Mae Youmans Reeves

Annie Mae Youmans Reeves, 96, of Yemasee, SC passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Reeves was born June 20, 1920 in Early Branch, SC to the late John Howell Youmans and Bridie Mae Crosby. She was an active member of the Yemassee Community, served as the former Town Clerk for the City of Yemasee, and a member of Yemassee Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and G.A.s. She was a Shrimp Festival volunteer and president of the Hampton County Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Reeves owned the first home freezer in Yemassee, given to her by Clemson University, a sponsor of the Home Demonstration Club. She was also a Raleigh Products and Stanley Home Products Distributor.

Mrs. Reeves is survived by her son, Michael M. Reeves, Jr. (Lisa) of Ridgeland, SC; daughter, Sherry Schott (Lemie) of Yemasee, SC; sister, Myrtle Mickle of Beaufort, SC; sister-in-law, Mary Youmans of Yemassee, SC; grandchildren, Michael M. Reeves, III, Michelle E. Kelly, Anna Maldonado, Kelly J. Stewart, Kevin Stewart, Jimmy Goodman, and John Goodman; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael M. Reeves, Sr., daughter, F. Kay Reebe, brother, John H. Youmans, sisters, Leona Brasington and Margie Bisbee, and grandchild, Reeves Goodman.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Yemassee Baptist Church, 127 Salkehatchie Rd, Yemassee with burial following in Ebenezer Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, February 24, 2017 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland.
