Arthur "Bruce" Craddock

Arthur Bruce Craddock (known to family and friends as Bruce) passed away the morning of Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at his home in Bluffton, South Carolina. He was 85 years old. Bruce was born to the late William E. and Ethyl Craddock in Mt. Airy, North Carolina on November 18, 1934. He is the brother to deceased siblings Laura May Martin and William C. Craddock, Jr. Bruce graduated from Duke University in 1957 with a degree in mathematics and immediately started his career at McDonnell Douglas/Boeing in Charlotte, North Carolina. He lived and worked in multiple places before finally settling in St. Louis, Missouri where he served as the Director of Harpoon Missile Development traveling throughout the world. Bruce was an avid fan of Duke basketball and football and never missed the Atlantic Coast Conference. In addition, he loved boating and golf. Bruce is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carol Ann Craddock and children Jeffrey M. and Steven B. Craddock. He was the stepfather to Sean O’Hearne (Christa), Kevin O’Hearne (Gina), and Ryan O’Hearne (April). He was a loving grandfather (Papa) to Cole Craddock, Quinn Craddock, Jaime Casini (Nico), Taryn O’Hearne, Gavin O’Hearne, McKenna O’Hearne, Colin O’Hearne, Payton O’Hearne, Mason O’Hearne and Kyla O’Hearne. Carol and Bruce retired in 1995 and relocated from St. Louis to Bluffton, South Carolina while continuing to maintain a residence at the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri after their move. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is assisting the family with arrangements at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's.
