Arthur William Hanbury

Arthur W. HanburyJune 12, 1921 to July 15, 2007Arthur W. Hanbury from Eagles Pointe in Bluffton, SC died Sunday at Coastal Carolina Hospital. He was 86. Born on June 12, 1921 in New York City, he was the son of Harry A. Hanbury and Lillian A. Fallon. He lived in Syracuse, NY and Bloomfield Hills, MI before moving to Hilton Head in 1991.He attended Fordham University and played on the Varsity Baseball team. He was a decorated combat veteran of World War II having served as a First Lieutenant pilot in the Eight Air Force. He was in the North African theater of operations being awarded the Air Medal three times for valor. He was also a B24 Flight Instructor after returning to the USA in 1945.He retired after 35 years of service with Allied Chemical Corporation as the Regional Executive of Barrett Division in Michigan and Ohio.Mr. Hanbury is survived by his wife, Mary N. of 63 years. He is also survived by eight children: four daughters
