Arvid Endwood Alenius

Arvid Endwood Alenius, 84 of Bluffton, SC passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Colleton Medical Center, Walterboro, SC. He was born in New York City on January 6, 1930 to the late Arvid and Gertrude Alenius. He was a graduate of Oberlin College. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Latham, NY. He was a professional pianist and played with Lester Lanin and the New York Society Band. He was a US Air Force Veteran from 1951 - 1955. He attended the Bluffton United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing golf and reading. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Kelly Alenius of Bluffton; two daughters, Karen Wyld (Tim) of Bluffton and Paige Kelly Alenius of New York City; one sister, Audrey Sharpe (Don) of Woodbury, CT and grandson, Timothy Scott Wyld, Jr of Fayetteville, NC. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm until the hour of the service. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Arvid E. Alenius to Memory Matters, 117 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926.
