Barbara Josephine "Bobbie Jo" Lowther

Mrs. Barbara Josephine (Bobbie Jo) Lowther, 81, of Ridgeland, SC, wife of James B. Lowther, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort, SC.

Bobbie Jo was born September 21, 1936 in Ridgeland, SC to the late Ulysses C. Smith and Maggie Langford Smith. She was an office manager for State Farm Insurance Company of Ridgeland for 35 years and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ridgeland Ward. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Bobbie Jo is survived by her sons, Scott Pressley Lowther (Rhonda) and Thomas Creswell Lowther (Karen), both of Ridgeland, SC, and grandchildren, Maggie L. Kelley (Robbie), Carly May (Joshua), Chelsea Burdette, Abby Lowther, and Brayden Lowther. She was preceded in death by her son, James B. Lowther, Jr. and sister, Sarah Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ridgeland Ward. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am until the hour of the service. Burial will follow at Ridgeland Cemetery.
