Barbara (Dennison) Connelly

Barbara Dennison Connelly, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on July 4, 2021 at the age of 87 at home in Bluffton, South Carolina.

Born January 6, 1934 in Southbridge, Massachusetts, Barbara attended Auburn High School and was the Chairman of the Filene’s High School Fashion Board.  She went on to graduate from Anna Maria College in Paxton, Massachusetts in 1955 with degrees in English Literature and Philosophy.  Barbara worked as a teacher and tutor, a docent and museum guide at Duxbury Art Complex in Massachusetts, as a model in Boston, and as a real estate agent in Florida.  Barbara will be remembered by all for her expertise in the kitchen, her flair for entertaining, her gracious demeanor and her fabulous sense of style.

Barbara and her husband Peter were longtime residents of Duxbury, MA and also lived in Palm Harbor FL, before settling in Bluffton, SC.

Barbara is survived by her daughters Maura, Tricia (Charlie) Neuhaus, and sons Drew (Nancy), Kevin (Gayle), and Chris.  She will also be remembered with love by her sister Jane (Herman) and her grandchildren, Thor, Maren, and Connelly Rhodin; Peter, Oliver and Hope Connelly; Emma and Carly Gamson and Charlie Neuhaus; Claire and Will Connelly; and Sean, Lily, and Ryan Connelly.  Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Peter, and her sister Susan.

A joint committal ceremony will be held for Barbara and Peter on July 19, 2021 at 10am at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina.
