Barbara Morgan Gyngell (Grant)

Barbara Morgan Gyngell (Grant) died peacefully on June 22, 2015 in Hilton Head Island, SC at the age of 88. Barbara is survived by her children, Gordon Gyngell III and his partner Peggy Cunningham of New Britain, CT, Linda and John Stulpin of Bluffton, SC, Jay Gyngell of Coventry, CT, Debra Berloni of Bluffton, SC and Adam Gyngell of Levy, SC. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Barbara was born on February 26, 1927 in Hartford, CT to Arline and Lloyd Grant. She graduated from Hartford High School and Hartford Secretarial School. She worked at the Hartford Armory and retired from CIGNA Life Insurance Company in Bloomfield, CT. A native of Connecticut, she raised her family in Simsbury where she was a resident of 52 years. She moved to South Carolina in 2003 where she enjoyed spending time with her family and pets. She also enjoyed gardening, bird and alligator watching, the ocean and the Lowcountry sunsets. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road in Bluffton, SC. Mr. Bruce Coffin will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Barbara's life. A graveside memorial service will be held in Simsbury, CT at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to the Palmetto Animal League at 57 Riverwalk Boulevard, Okatie, SC 29936. The family wishes to thank the staff of both Hospice Care of South Carolina and Hilton Head Hospital for the wonderful care and treatment of Barbara in her final days. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road in Bluffton, SC.
