Barbara P. (Pelikan) Shaner

Barbara A. Shaner, age 93, of Bluffton, SC passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021.

Mrs. Shaner was born in Atkinson, IL.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Velma Pelikan of Savanna, IL.

She was preceded in death by her very loving husband, John F. Shaner, Jr., in 2016.  They had been married for 56 years.

Following successful careers; she in accounting and he in engineering and plant management, the Shaners retired to Sun City Hilton Head in 2002.

The Shaners enjoyed vacationing at their timeshares, traveling to Europe and visiting nearly every island in the Caribbean.   The often flew to their destinations with John piloting a Mooney airplane.

Mrs. Shaner is survived by her daughter Claudia Collins, her favorite son-in-law Michael, of Bluffton, SC and her loving cat Rikkie

They would like to thank the many relatives and friends of the Shaners who made their lives so enjoyable.

Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is assisting the family with a private funeral service.

A celebration of life for the Shaners will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the charity of the donor's choice.
