Schob, Barbara Anne passed away in her home in South Carolina on Friday, November 19, 2010.She was born on April 23rd, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Anthony G. Schob Jr. and Ann C. Schob. She is survived by 3 younger siblings, Anthony G. Schob III of Hilton Head, SC, Andrew M. Schob of Bend, OR, and John J. Schob of Huntington, NY. She graduated with honors from The Sacred Heart Academy in Rockville Centre, NY and worked after graduation at CIT Financial. Before working as the General Manager of The Brentwood Country Club in Long Island for 17 years, she worked as Assistant Manger at The Brightwaters Beach & Cabana Club. Before retiring to South Carolina, she lived in Bayshore and Greenlawn and worked as a bookkeeper for her brother John, golf professional at The Huntington Crescent Club in New York. Barbara was a duplicate bridge enthusiast and along with her dog, Mimi, both loved socializing at the dog park. She is also survived by 4 cousins; Marylou Malachowski of St. Petersburg, FL, Sue Lione of New Canaan, CT, Thomas Galgano of Atlantic Beach, NY, and Clare Einsmann of Laguna Nigel, CA., and 2 nieces and 2 nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC, is assisting the family with their arrangements. (saulsfh.com). She will be buried at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY. By virtue of her love for dogs and animals, donations may be made in her name to The Humane Society of The United States. Barbara loved staying in contact with her family. Her cheerful spirit will be missed by many.
