Barbara T. Sinnott, 91, of Hilton Head Island, SC, formerly of Ossining, NY, died January 20th 2023. Born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Francis D. Tattan Sr. and Gertrude C. Tattan. Barbara graduated from St. Peter’s High School in Worcester, MA, and Simmons College in Boston, and then went on to get her Master’s degree in education. She taught special education for over 25 years at the Putnam | Northern Westchester BOCES campus in Yorktown, NY. She enjoyed teaching her students to disco dance and had fond memories of taking trips with them to see broadway musicals. Barbara, known as Babs to her family, loved playing tennis, the beach, going on garden tours, shopping at T.J.Maxx and anything chocolate. She also enjoyed chardonnay, reading The New York Times from cover to cover, dancing in the aisles at Earth Wind & Fire concerts with her good friend Bill Broadnax, and spending the winter months in Palm Beach Gardens, FL with her sister in law Kathleen Tattan. Barbara is survived by her three children, Ellen Pawly of Needles, CA, David Sinnott and his wife Lynn of Scottsdale, AZ, Beth Giebel and her husband Dewar of Hilton Head Island, SC, as well as her grandchildren Lindsey Sinnott of San Dimas, CA, and Matthew Sinnott and his wife Siqin of Brookhaven, GA, and her brother William Tattan and his wife Kathleen. She was predeceased by her brother David Tattan and his wife Joan. A private memorial service will be held at a future date.
